African Slave Trade and Holocaust

The African holocaust is often referred to as the Maafa, which means “Great Disaster”.  The African slave trade occurred from the 16th century to the 19th century and brought African slaves to the new world. Both events were huge times of tragedy for Africa and caused many problems. Still today you can see the repercussions of these events within Africa. In both instances African people were taken advantage of and seen as lesser of people but eventually rose up and persevered on. After reading about these events my heart and sympathy goes out to everyone that was involved. The awful and brutal things that were done to Africans bring tears to your eyes and fill you with disbelief that anyone could ever do that to another human being. But it also gives you a feeling of hope knowing that they survived it and came out of it, still with some issues but survived nonetheless.
